Another option is to use an animal, like a berghia nudibranch which only eats aiptasia. Simply feed them the same type of food you already feed your fish and or corals and they will be very happy. For peppermint shrimp, the removal of their preferred food source does not mean their death.
Peppermint shrimp are an excellent way to add diversity to your saltwater aquarium and also eliminate other pests and excess food and waste. As part of the cleanup crew for a reef tank, peppermint shrimp will reduce the nitrate and phosphate levels naturally by eating leftover food.
