Prior to this, he served honorably as an internist in the United States Navy from 2012 to 2019, earning the rank of Lieutenant Commander and a Navy Medal of Commendation for outstanding primary care provided to the Joint Task Force at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His special interests include intra-articular corticosteroids for joint diseases and Botox for migraine headaches.

He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Naval Medical Center in 2015. During his residency, he earned an award for clinical excellence on his Intensive Care Unit Rotation. He scored at the top of his class on all his in-service training medicine exams and well above average on his national board specialty exam.
As a testament to his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.
