Experienced Criminal Lawyers in North Dakota: Good Samaritan Law Report Released
May 13, 2022
Fargo,United States - May 13, 2022 /NewsNetwork/ —
Haugen Moeckel & Bossart have published a new article entitled, “Call For Help! ND Good Samaritan Law for Drug Offenses.” The 2-minute article examines North Dakota’s Law called “The Good Samaritan.” It also explains, in detail, the steps to follow to receive such immunity. Those who are serious about getting trustworthy legal defense and other interested individuals can view the complete article at HaugenMoeckel&Bossart/Blog.
According to the report, the explosion in overdose deaths from narcotics has profoundly affected every state; therefore, North Dakota adopted a law to grant immunity to individuals who reach out for help and medical assistance when suffering from a drug overdose.
Below is a portion of the piece that neatly exemplifies what has been stated above:
The “Good Samaritan” law, in general, states an individual is immune from criminal prosecution on many drug charges if, in good faith, that individual seeks medical assistance for another individual in need of emergency medical assistance due to a drug overdose. This law only applies to certain drug charges (marijuana is excluded).
One of the most important pieces of information the article tries to convey and communicate is the steps people should complete in order to receive immunity under the North Dakota “Good Samaritan” law. The best example of this is perhaps found in the following extract:
‘First, the individual receiving immunity must have remained on the scene until assistance arrived. Secondly, cooperation with the medical treatment of the reported drug overdosed individual is expected. Finally, the overdosed individual must be in a condition a layperson reasonably believes to be a drug overdose requiring immediate medical assistance.’
In discussing the article’s creation, Stacey Tjon Bossart, President/CEO at Haugen Moeckel & Bossart, said:
“It is essential for anyone charged with a criminal offense to have the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney. If you have a charge pending or an ongoing investigation, seek an experienced criminal defense attorney to help you navigate this process.”
Regular readers of Haugen Moeckel & Bossart will notice the article’s familiar tone, described as ‘trustworthy and relevant.
Haugen Moeckel & Bossart now welcome comments and questions from the audience concerning the article. They want to help people become aware of the importance of the Good Samaritan Law and how it can help save lives. The reason is that this will help them work closely with an attorney to evaluate their case and decide their best course of action.
