The fashion forward, star-studded event drew hundreds to downtown Los Angeles “The Bloc” Macy’s Rooftop parking deck for an epic fashion show presentation in support of Breast Cancer awareness & Children Uniting Nations.

As Los Angeles October fall fashion weeks closes, celebrities, influencers and fashion enthusiasts stepped out on Monday October 24, 2022 to support and pay tribute to veteran streetwear icon designer Karl kani, Showcasing his present and past collections from his humble beginnings 1989 retrospective of his history and foundation to present day as the innovator of Urban Streetwear. At “ELEVATE” LA. creative directed and produced by Dreamhouse MBG Annette BibbyOliver.
ELEVATE a celebratory tribute & “Fashion for a Cause production curated by Dreamhouse MBG, Benari Kamau, and veteran photographer Arnold Turner. The evening benefitted ( CUN) Children Uniting Nations, brought together a curated collective of fashion industry creatives in the fashion field such as producers, brand managers, wardrobe stylists, designers, models, retailers, tastemakers & fashion enthusiasts paying homage to designer & Tailor to the stars Sir Baba Jagne & Urban Streetwear Innovator & Icon Karl Kani. Who both continues to inspire the fashion Industry and championed change by utilizing their platform to bring awareness and to help change the course of history.
Lending their support were stars on and off the runway: Opening the Karl Kani tribute and trip down memory lane with a visual history of the brand’s birth to streetwear and street culture was famed model & actor Jeremy Meeks, alongside rapper 5IVE MICS: and IBF and WBO junior welterweight world championships boxer Zab Judah, who closed the 40 look runway presentation with his 7 year old Twin Sons.
Among the brands on display and opening the evenings shows and making it’s fashion debut was HOUSE OFJATEREA a Bangladesh handcrafted footwears collection. . Jatarea is what is possible when passion meets intention. coming together to highlight the emergence of sustainability in fashion.
Looking out over Downtown Los Angeles, The city’s downtown skyline served as the backdrop for what was billed as “The hottest fashion event of the season. On “The Bloc” “Macy’s rooftop parking, transformed to an 100 Ft runway of light, cameras & action, gave attendees an opportunity to witness an iconic immersive experience entertaining tribute show honoring Sir Baba Jagne, with “The 2022 Designer Trailblazer award award. Jagne has been featured in VOGUE Magazine and multiple press for his design creations seen on Cardi B, Ciara, Zendaya, Kelly Rowland, Normani, Just to name a few. And the incomparable God father & innovator of Streetwear fashion MR Karl Kani who received a Tourch of Flame Icon award for paving the path in the evolution of the fashion industry for black designers & for his contribution to the fashion industry & our culture as a whole.
