Delabs, a Leading Web3 Game Developer, Secures $4.7 Million Investment
Jul 25, 2023
Seoul, South Korea Jul 24, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Delabs, a prominent Web3 game development and publishing company, announced today the successful completion of a $4.7 million investment round. Coming off the successful completion of its invite-only testing event for Rumble Racing Star, its highly anticipated kart racing game, Delabs is poised for growth in a blockchain gaming market that's projected to reach $65.7 billion by 2027.
The raised investment will boost development of the company's upcoming Web3 games, including Rumble Racing Star, Space Frontier, and Meta Bolts, as well as marketing initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement. The investment attracted participation from notable investors, including lead investor Hashed, Planetarium, Spartan, Merit Circle, Polygon and Cristian, the founder of Aggero, along with many other private investors.
Simon Seojoon Kim, CEO of Hashed Ventures who led this round, said "We highly value the attempt to integrate a veteran development team that has created high-quality games in the traditional gaming industry with distinctive IPs into the Web3 ecosystem"
The investment is not only an important marker for Delabs as a company, but according to CEO JMK, it's also a wider recognition of the potential of Web3 and the direction that the gaming industry is heading.
"Today's investment news is an important acknowledgment that Web3 technology is not only here to stay, but poised to revolutionize the gaming industry by empowering players with true digital ownership and control over their in-game assets," shared JMK, CEO at Delabs. "The investment also marks a significant milestone for Delabs as we prepare to launch three new games, enabling us to deliver the best gaming experience possible to our growing community of enthusiastic web3 gamers."
Readying to Rumble
Ahead of the release of their PC-based web3 game, "Rumble Racing Star," Delabs conducted a successful private party test in June. The event was exclusively held for PFP NFT partners and Adventure Pass NFT holders. Kevin Henrikson, the founder of NFT collection y00ts and an event participant, praised Rumble Racing Star as an "extremely addictive game" with exceptional gameplay features.
Rumble Racing Star offers players an engaging multiplayer racing experience where they compete using a lawnmower-like machine to mow grass and outpace opponents. The game features diverse tracks, unique items, and skills, as well as integration with profile picture PFP NFTs, allowing users to express their individuality through NFTs.
Delabs previously garnered attention from the web3 community by achieving the top position on the OpenSea NFT marketplace during the minting of Adventure Pass NFT in April, making Delabs the first South Korean game company to reach such a milestone.
The release of Rumble Racing Star is scheduled for later in 2023, with updates available on Delabs' official Twitter, Discord, and website.
