Classic VacationsTM, a global luxury travel business, is pleased to announce the confirmation of Melissa Krueger as Chief Executive Officer. Krueger succeeds David Hu, who served as President and CEO of Classic Vacations for the past thirteen years.
Outgoing CEO, Hu, who stewarded the company through some of its most challenging times, leaves Classic set up to succeed financially and operationally, and excited with appointment of Krueger in her new role. "I have had the remarkable privilege to lead a talented, dedicated, and passionate group of people to whom I refer to as my CV family. But the time has come for me to focus my time, energy, and efforts on my own family with a personal sabbatical. As we emerge from the pandemic, Melissa is the right leader for Classic Vacations. Her knowledge, passion, and unwavering faith in Classic Vacations will be able to drive the company into a new era." - David Hu
Krueger has been with the company for nine years, most recently leading our Groups division as Vice President and General Manager. As an accomplished leader and 20 year veteran in the travel industry, she has consistently proven her ability to deliver value to all stakeholders. Krueger is thrilled to step into her new role as CEO, as Classic moves forward and enters its next chapter.
"I am incredibly excited to assume this new role, and for the future of Classic Vacations. Along with my leadership team, I am deeply committed to the long-term success of our employees, customers, and suppliers; and I am passionate about the strength of our products and services and the opportunities they present. As we lead in an ever-evolving marketplace, we must welcome possibilities for new ways of doing our work, partnering with others, and delivering value to customers." - Melissa Krueger
The Najafi Companies, an entrepreneurially driven private investment firm and owner of Classic Vacations, has great confidence in Krueger, having worked closely with her this past year.
"In Melissa Krueger, we have chosen a passionate leader who is thoughtful in her approach, strategic in her decision-making, and has a proven track record in creating value and building world-class relationships. She has a deep understanding of the industry, how Classic Vacations operates, and a clear vision for the future. Classic Vacations has a rich 40-year history, and we strongly believe Classic's best years are ahead of us. With this long-term view, we are very excited about Classic's new steward who has our full support to, as Melissa says, 'make things happen.'" - Jahm Najafi, Founder and CEO of The Najafi Companies
